I am really keen to give this race but I have just seen the wind forecast for Sunday - East 19 knots at the start dropping to 15 by the finish. Looks like a bit of a slog for the uninitiated.
I can do the distance on my 12'6, I am just concerned about the wind. Can anyone who has done this race before allay my fears!

I'd suggest a bigger stick and more favourable winds mate

Keep checking - it changes every day. It's 14 kts right now. I never enter it until I've seen what the weather looks like in the last week - same goes for The Doctor. Ski paddlers rule the majority and the course will be run if the skis can manage it.

Should be okay to Bradley's Head - bit of a pain to have to keep to the left out of the ferry channel as it would have been nice to go up the right hand side in the lee of the cliffs. A reverse course would be great, but that is unlikely with Bavarian Beer Cafe being a sponsor.
