I have a large crease (break but not all the way through to other side) in my paddle blade. I have read that it is possible to fix carbon shafts at carbon bike repairers. Is it possible to repair? Does anyone know where south of Perth. (or post). If not, is it possible to buy a blade without the shaft. I quite like this one - Enduro Super Flex carbon 8X but open to comments on it s durability etc. I think it happened on a large wave I dug the paddle into on the bottom turn but I also copped one or two on the head that day. I don't remember any collisions etc.
Thank you
Mlee
Your board could of hit it. My ankle looked similar after my board hit it a few years ago.
I would sand back, fill epoxy, fair back and patch with carbon, or glass and keep using.
You're in luck. Auswind is the home of Starboard Australia in Osborne Park, Perth. Give them a buzz and they can get you a new blade to get you back on the water.
I've had blades fixed but it's only a matter of time before they break again. Do as crazybula says and ask the distributor about a replacement blade. It will be cheaper than the cost of a new paddle.
