Great weekend growing every year
Elite paddlers thru to beginners
Great after party every night
SURFING
DUSTANCE
BOP
Can only get bigger and better..
World class location and atmosphere for sure !.
Think next year will be even bigger , hopefully a bit more swell , can't have everything though .
I really enjoyed it and what makes it work is it piggybacks on to another event but is not lost in that event.
Natural Amphitheatre made for great spectator viewing.
A bit more swell for the Surfing Sups but I don't think it is a problem for the RACE Sups as it allowed maximum participation.
After 12 Towers which is held in good BUMP a really enjoyable weekend.
Very good turnout for both races from the best paddlers and surfers the country has to offer. The pro's were out and about talking and giving a good spectacle to the spectators.
I'll tell you something, if your going to do any events then the Merimbula Classic is one of the best but if you want to step up to an absolutely well run series of events then the Noosa Festival of surf and sup is the one.
From what I saw, there seemed to be the best elite paddlers and surfers in Australia present in all the events that made for such a terrific spectacle for both those who prticipated and the thousands of spectators that witnessed such a well run and fun event. Mind you I heard the 12 Towers was a classic this year as well...
Now thats a solid crowd!!!!!
The beach bar was pumping and every possible vantage point taken up.... Freaking massive!!!!!
I heard a whisper its the biggest crowd in the world gathered to watch a sup event.
Hats off to this crazy cat (on the right) that organised this mamouth sup extravaganza....
Full legend effort!!!!!
For my money this was the best event of the year, I think this, the merimbula and maybe the Sydney SUP festival are three really good fun events that should make everyones calendar. I will certainly be back in Noosa next year was an awesome introduction to BOP and truthfully a better crew you could not meet. Jonsey was beyond awesome with his organisational abilities. The beach bar was incredible and who would have thought that thongs could be considered formal wear.
Wow.
That is an amazing crowd. Can count with my finges the numbers of sports that can gather such a crowd over here.
i just read that there was up to 6000 people on the beach , on the boardwalk and rocks at first point to watch the surfing dogs competition, must have been the biggest crowd in Sup history to watch the event, just huge Jonesy....then at least half of that watching the Bop race beforehand, as a competitor of that event, it was amazing to see and be part of such a successful festival......
