For the next week at least by the looks we are going to have very long period pumping winter swells.
Sydney is 2 x overhead plus at some spots already and building with light offshores!
Hopefully you poor old QLDers see some left overs
Lets hope so , flat as pancake today.I had a session on a currumbin beachie the other night and it was the best surf in recent memory and it was 2ft.Thats how bad it is.Fingers crossed for tomorrow , i might have to do a roady down the coast.
go south over the border they say. there was more ne wind swell mid week then there is today around our traps. someone said main beach was 3'. news shows d bar at 2' and they are talking about it like mana from heaven
i'm not holding my breath for much gold coast wave action this weekend. besides, every surfer in se qld will be mooching around trying to find waves after the mythical big wave build up we have been hearing all week
cheers
ps if waves happen tomorrow, disregard the above comments
Yeah that nice sandbank just north of Sydney was pumping this arvo.
I didn't get right out the back but I heard there were 6-8' stand up barrells again, DTM. This time Tom Carroll and Bruce Raymond were dropping them for you. Wasn't keen to battle it out backhand with those guys so we stayed inside closer to the beach. It was a bit fat and sketchy on the higher tide, but still 6' walls are always fun!
Have to say there is nothing like seeing those big dark monsters come at you from waaay out back. All you can do is paddle your hardest and fight the surge of adrenalin! Yeehaa!
scored a few out there this morning, a bit bumpy but was well worth the paddle.
Certainly seems a lot hollower these days which should keep a lot of mals away.
Took this shot a few weeks ago on a smaller day showing a sup in the pit.

Well it didn't disappoint here in Sydney on Sat. I was lucky enough to get 2 surfs in - the first one was mad - ended up breaking my gun again in a full stand up back hand barrell then had to watch Dan pull in for the next 30 mins til he took pity on me and lent me his SUP. - what a mate!!
Just came in then from a big meaty right, here's a shot of it from yesterday when it was smaller:
Forecast is calling for another 5 - 6 days of it, wooo hooo!!
Had a look out the back early but it was insanely crowded so I moved in close to the beach and scored some fantastic walls.
I was on the red C4 subvector.
Dan reckons white water out there was pretty heavy, unfortunately video footage makes it look a little fatter and less heavy than it actually was.
Good some good film of a guy with a certain double ender paddle.
