Great effort by young trevor to outsprint the likes of connor jake and casper. Cant believe he is only 15. Whats more impressive he won by 2 seconds.Well done young man. One thing i dont understand is why other manufacturers dont have recessed decks on their flat water boards expecially. I know their is a lot more to a fast board than a recessed deck but the extra stability it gives is a big advantage in being able to apply power to your stroke i think.
Hard to beat the power-to-weight ratio, powers of recovery, and reaction times of a teenager. If you are an oldster you'd better stick to endurance events.
Fastest board anyway.
Connor Baxter came 4th on the same board. Connor was heavily favoured to win this race. Trevor absolutely smashed Connor. I think a little respect for Trevor's achievement wouldn't go astray.
Thanks but didn't think being older is that much of a disavantge? I'm 38 and came in 7th in a race that one mis stroke or one to many changes will cost you about 3 or 4 places!! Trev was the fastest today foresure but out side trevs time it was all super close. Even look at how close the girls were and to have the the top 2 only really half a stoke difference is pretty cool for the sport and Ang is the same age as me and Lina is 35.
Age is only a barrier if you let it and believe it!! Look at Johny that is here he is 63 i think and still beat a bunch of the young guys and the best thing is loves doing what he does.
Sprinting to me is one of the hardest things to do as to do it right you must train for it and when doing it in a race it always hurts and is never easy the only good thing is its over quick!!
Fastest board anyway.
this year the board had very little to do with it and Trev was just the fastest paddler on the day hand down!! All the boards here are fast and if you look through all the places you will see its not all starboard sprints.
Probably a dumb question, but why does the Fanatic Strike look a good few inches longer ? or is that just photography trickery ?
Congrats also to our Angie.. 2nd place [pipped by a smidge] in the womens on the new board..
Yes the difference of standing up just before the line and Lina paddling right through the line as the times here go of your body not your board but it was super close, it would have being great to see Ang and Lina go head to head.
haha funny you say that as when they were doing that pic we all were thinking the same but i think it's just the angles the boards are on..
The Sprint is certainly narrower then the other boards. It makes the Naish look like a big Ol' Glide
If the Naish was a production version, I think it would be 26" wide. That's quite a bit wider than Trevor's 23" Sprint.
aint it suck getting old
the young ones are coming
maybe need to spend some more time in your oxygen chamber old racer

Haha Getting old is just part of life it's weather you let it rule your life is the difference. Ang is alway telling me to grow up so i can't be that old anyway.

Why the red thumbs???
PS Trevor is 18 for the record.
Don't ruin a good meme. This thread has fooled SUP publications around the world as well as a large number of locals.
