The Fig2Fig is back for its second year after the huge success of the first year!
Great entry level event for those wanting to gain an insight to the awesome downwind scene in Perth with the guidance from some of our best paddlers and also another great event for the more experienced guys in what is going to be a blockbuster week of racing along the WA coastline! Awesome social atmosphere and a great celebration of stand up!

Enter at the below link, see you there!!

Zane Schweitzer will be a chaperone....This will be an awesome opportunity to paddle along side Zane and get some tips, not very often you would be able to paddle with one of the worlds best and keep up.

Over 70 paddlers last year. Chance to be part of the biggest fleet of SUPs off the coast.
It's not a race, it's a downwinder and as the great DJ says "it's a bush walk"..... Enjoy the scenary, the atmosphere and share the stoke.

This is the community event of the year - bring any board - quite a few had sub 10' surf boards and chatted the whole way (no race board required) let the wind do the work!

The best looking trophy for a race too I reckon. Anyone got a picture of them.

Benno have a couple of first time DW paddlers keen for this one, leg rope is a given but is it a PFD and or flare required also?

This would have to be one of the best opportunities in the world to get into Downwinding. It was a blast last year

Nice one mate! Yes a leg rope, PFD and flare are all required to compete and this will be checked pre-race. We also have Fremantle Sea Rescue on board again to provide on water support.

Awesome pic from the start of last year's Fig To Fig.
It was my first ocean DWer, had an interesting start.
A guy ran into me, (my story :-) fell off my board & got my leggie tangled up with my PFD
Settled down after that, great fun

HI Guys Leg rope and PFD compulsory flare is not required, any type of PFDF is satisfactory however if you have access to an Australian standards PFD type 1 then that would be tops.

The conditions on Sunday would of been perfect for the Fig to Fig. Moderate breeze and little swell

Hi all,
A few questions have been asked about logistics, registration will be taking place from 10.00 am through to 12.00 pm at the Naked Fig in Swanbourne. Event briefing will take place at 12.30pm with a 1.30pm start to the race to allow adequate vehicle drops and board shuffles up to Port Beach, Fremantle. Conditions looking great!

Do we need to sort out our own board movements or will a ride be available for boards and bodies?
Cheers

If you can't arrange a lift I'm sure you will get a lift to the start from somebody, there will be plenty of cars, trailers, a mini bus etc to get you there.

first time DW for myself & wife - we each have 10.5x30 Drive & 12'6x 28 flat water boards - which would be better for Fig2Fig?

Trying to work out if the width of the Drive would be better given I'm a tad sh!te on the balance.....

Registration on the day will be allowed, however, it is much preffered that competitors pre-register so that the race organisers can focus on delivering another awesome event :)

If the conditions looking fantastic for this weekend and over 50 paddlers entered so far - this year's Fig 2 Fig is shaping up to be an absolute blast.

Had a few queries about the level of this event. With the breeze pushing you down the coast its an easy paddle. Make sure you get on a stable board - it doesn't need to be a race board - in fact a 9-11 foot board is perfect. It's all about getting out together in a large group and a drink after!

Fantastic event guys (SUPWA) really good to see such a big crowd (~90 paddlers) of varying skills, ages and sexes out on the water. Was great to get a few tips from Travis Grant who along with the other Pro's was skooting backwards and forwards all over the fleet helping people out.

Great photos! I didn't realise we had so many models out there!.....great smiles, looked like fun out there

Big thanks to Rog and Ben for putting on such a great event. Ian from Starboard Australia and the Fig were awesome - that outdoor setting was perfect - very lucky and much appreciated!
