This event is about the joy of downwinding. It's not a race, it's just about getting there and enjoying the ride. All new paddlers will be paired with an experienced paddler to undertake the 7km course to Swanbourne. The more experienced paddlers will then continue onto Scarborough (14km in total). It's all about sharing the Stoke, passing on knowledge and smiles.

The Inaugural Fig2Fig SUP Downwinder Race is on in December. WA is known for its Freo Doctor and the best way to enjoy this is on a SUP. Enjoy surfing the waves as the Doctor directs you to the Naked Fig in Swanbourne or the Wild Fig in Scarborough. On Sunday afternoon the 1st of December to celebrate the opening of the WA Downwind season!

It would be great to get you over for this DJ. Plenty of offers for accommodation and a yellow type race board, just get on a plane!

SUPWA will have PFD 1 inflateables for sale at registration on Sunday ($90), everyone is required to wear a PFD 1, 2 or 3, we will also have some orange smoke flares for sale as well, will confirm the cost of the flares. Lookin good for a fun downwinder at this stage.

If you need a bumbag PFD 1 ( 'Ultra' brand) and/or an orange smoke flare for Sunday, please let me by tomorrow (27th) so that I can have enough stock on hand to keep everyone happy

Hey Chookster one bum bag and one flare for me too please. Its a good thing none of us get our words mixed up because using the words bum and flare in one sentence could be misconstrued as some kind of Jackass episode re-enactment.
