There’s something magical about going to an island paradise in the middle of the pacific ocean where endless, perfect waves is the order of the day. What’s even more special? Coming to the realisation of who’s footsteps have been there before.
Namotu Island, Fiji, one might say, is a waterman’s Nirvana. Walking onto the island your spine tingles, seeing photos of former world champions charging, G-Mac pulling into code red Cloudy, the roof of fame with boards from the ASP’s top 10 men, women and various other shredders and their weapons of lip destruction that were used to tame Fiji’s wild beasts. And here I am, thrust in the midst of this greatness with a great group of frothers and one of the biggest ‘Hellman’ SUP chargers Tasmania has produced. The photos certainly don’t do it justice.
Be sure to check out the latest issue of SUPWorld Magazine for the complete write up of the trip.

Fond memories of three of us out at macking stormy 8-10ft cloudbreak in '92 at the tender age of 22......6km off shore and absolutely freaking out.
