Makorori Point this morning.
Not exciting enough surf to tempt the locals out.......so no crowd.
Tried a paddle mounted camera for a change but my camera pointing skills way below the DJ.
In summary......not much surf and not many people to take pictures of.....But a lovely warm morning with a pink and red sky

A guy who was there before us said it was pretty much full up.....but didn't drive down there myself.
That climb back up the hill sometimes needs a pause or two if the surf is biggish and the body is tired

My companion had put his car keys under a "special rock" on the beach failing to allow for incoming tide. They were wet.....but we found them

Yea, nice one. Must be a !#?! in bare feet.

Good camera work. I gave up on the paddle mount, too tough.

Yeah Gizzie... pretty respectable Paddle Cam work... much better than mine every was!

Good start to the New Year.... just do that 364 more times and you'll be perfect!

We had a great crowd out today, with decent small waves. Good times!!!!

Using a Replay XD Prime X with their dive case .....on to their board mount glued and screwed to a bit of kitchen chopping board......taped to paddle .....plus a bit of pool noodle for extra float if you drop the paddle. I turn it off a lot these days as maybe fogging issues if it gets too warm?
Took the dive case lens cover off for the walk up the hill.
Got a helmet mount and a board mount too.
But its not easy getting good footage with a point and shoot action camera. Luck is involved

Gizzie you did a great job with your camera perspective, I thought it was quite interesting looking down the wave.

Got no hedgehogs left........the first one was "the runaway". Did a houdini. The next couple of wildest ones I let go. The smallest one wandered off when i didn't notice
