the blue painted Rapala jointed wooden lure seems especially good for low speed trolling. This a no. 13 size

Nice Fish, i'm assuming its just your preferance to use your rod upside down, much easier to add a bit of "thumb" drag when using an overhead reel the right way up

oops........still getting the hang of that reel. I know you should be able to cast with it. Should do dry land practise i suppose

They can be tricky to cast, just make sure as soon as the lure/bait hits the water to stop the spool spinnining with your thumb, otherwise it over runs and line everywhere
