Inflatables have come a long way in a short time.
I have the Naish Nisco One & it's great.
Just got the Red Paddle 12'6" x 28" Race inflatable & it's a serious weapon.
Be it recreational or BOP, very impressive

and ....for the record, and a matter of disclosure, I currently ride a SIC 14 Carbon Bullet and a PSH 9''7" AA Ripper, both amazing boards for their respective disciplines. I used to own a Starboard Whopper 10, Naish 9 Mana, Laguna Bay 9'6 and a Boardworks 9'11"Joyride. The board I liked least was the Naish, but I was too heavy for it, really. The Naish did surf well though.

I want to get an inflatable SUP, but basically a raceboard so I can go paddling for exercise and do the odd downwinder. I don't want to be paddling along and thinking, "This is really good for an inflatable, but I wish it wasn't one."

The Starboard and Fanatic 26" wide models are very good for what you are wanting, and I'm told the new Red 28" model is also pretty sweet.

Here is a video featuring the Starboard 12'6" x 26" Astro Racer. This is from a year ago. The current model is a little different.
