G:day
Coming back to WA to compete in Marathon SUP at Geraldton. Does any one know anything about the course, or previous courses that have been used. Not much on the website for Surfing Aus.
Is it or could it be
*one way or a loop?
*Down wind?

Depends if we get a sea breeze , the last race there was a section of flat and DW.
I am hoping for all DW Gero to corros 24 k not to keen on the flat run will be fun which ever happens stoked to hear your heading over .few surfing crew from Queensland coming have not heard much from racing crew .
Hey did i see that the water temp is stil 19 degrees in geraldton atm?
We are coming over for the surfing & marathon...but i hope it isn't 24km!..unless its ALL DW. A flat water paddle of 24km could be a challenge.
Where are the best places to eat, got to have the right fuel to race!... PB

Yes it's cold at the moment . As for food not a heap of spots we will be cooking our own Rad Man is the local up there he may have a few spots
Is it just me or is the water temperature colder than usual this year in WA?
i have had a few freezing sessions lately around Perth, still if the surf is good enough you don't seem to notice as much.
I doubt that the Marathon will end up being 24ks (I'd be happy with that though, the longer the better as far as I'm concerned though, I'm a bit like my old Nissan diesel I cough and splutter for the first few ks)
I have no idea what the organisers have in store for us course wise, however I wouldn't mind betting it will be <20ks and I'm sure there will be several options depending on the weather, it is a bit early in the season to rely on a typical WA sea breeze.
Also Purple Beanie I think the focus is more on drinking than eating up Gero way
Hey Radman roughly how far would a Pt Moore to Drummonds run be?
My guess is a triangular course on north side of point starting st George up wind to town beach cross wind up to point more and down wind to drummonds approx 17 kms assuming a southerly if Northerly Then the other side of point Moore could be utilzed
hey thanks Stimo and Tightlines, good to know...but 19 degrees is WARM from where i come from! this morning was 6 air temp and 13 water temp!
marathon distance sounds ok. i will give it a go.
Do you have Coopers up there...lol? or will i just have to drink RUM? PB
