The Gong staff taking a break to enjoy an outside micro-island 2 miles offshore of the office...
SUP, shortboards, LongSUPs, surf foil, inflatables... plenty of fun in all the various packagings!

I guess you were joking... but just in case, they regularily publish job offers both on the web site news page www.gong-galaxy.com/en/ (the RSS feed being www.gong-galaxy.com/en/spip.php?page=newsrss ), forum ( www.gong-galaxy.com/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=8377&start=0 ) and their facebook page.

Note that these are real French jobs. 35 hours/week, 5 weeks vacations, lots of social protections, cannot be fired without a valid reason, ... and of course the French quality of living.

I felt a bit sorry for the guy who kept going backwards. Didn't anyone give him some tips to stop that from happening?

I agree. You can see he is a bit older and perhaps confused as to what is the front of the board, perhaps a bigger fin would help...........but seriously ..........that is an awesome video...thanks for posting Colas!

I felt for the guy who kept jumping up and down. Seemed to be chucking a tanty the whole vid, due to the fact he could only go straight when every one else was turning. Probably just jealous

Great vid

It is in the bay of La Baule, south Brittany France. (near the Loire rivermouth and Nantes). La Baule is a famous French beach resort.

Patrice Guenole is a native of La Baule, and has surfed/windsurfed all his youth there. He used to (prone) paddle alone on big swells to these islands as a teenager on two boards strapped together to have a backup if he broke one. He settled in Marseilles when working for Gong before buying the label, then in Corsica as his wife was a pilot at Air Corsica (but also from La Baule), but they always wanted to settle back home.

Just a cracking vid Colas, really captures the fun of the sport!

Love the smiling of all the staff, looks like a special session that was enjoyed by all.

More of the same session:

Note that Beryl weights 66kg and is on the biggest Gong foil wing (the 80cm wide one). But he uses a smaller kite stab (45cm) to still be manoeuverable, and fast. On the Gong foil (at least) the stab is what can limit the speed: you can go very fast even with big wings by using a faster stab, and Gong modular system provides a lot of stab sizes.
