Hi,
do you guys have any suggestion on how to fix this paddle? If not, is it easy to find just upper part?
The metallic button that locks the two parts together got rusty and felt off.
Thanks
- ask the dealer / manufacturer
- try so go at a windsurfing shop, they may have some boom spare parts that may be similar
I have fixed adjustable paddles with the same steel button system before. It is easy just go to a pool shop and buy the while plastic button clips that is used in most extendable pool cleaning poles. Drill out the holes on your carbon shaft to suit the new button size if needed and insert the ne plastic clip into your inter paddle shaft. Easy if you need some photos let me know.
Fsamir I have had exactly the same problem (with exactly the same brand of paddle).
I think part of the problem is the slight amount of torque while paddling causes the carbon edge to work away at the metal button.
I took it into the shop where I purchased it and the guys there took some photos and were going to email them to the manufacturer to see if I could get a new spring mechanism. I haven't heard from them and it must be about 10 days. I could just glue but it is good to have a quality adjustable.
I think I will try Jappy's suggestion re the plastic clips from the pool store, sounds like a winner.
Just had another look at your photo, mine was a bit different as the metal button actually wore away towards the bottom of the button, but will be a similar fix anyway.
