The shaft on this paddle was a right off, So I replaced it with a new one. Cost of the new shaft $0 found some bamboo growing wild on the side of the road and cut 4 pieces and put them in the sun to dry out. $40 for Epoxy resin and some glass matt. A 1.5 hrs to make up a jig so the blade was straight on the shaft and at about 10 degs. Have been useing the paddle works fine about 300grams heavier than the qriginal.

Gday Surfrod,
Mateeeee top job!! Dont wanta rain on ya parade, but do you think ya might come across some de-lamination issues as the bamboo cures and possibly shrinks?

OK so the Bamboo was cut by Hunto and I just stole it from the back of his Magna Wagon!!!To Answer robbos question I let it cure in the sun for about 3 weeks so hopefully its already shrunk. I then gave it 2 coats of clear.

Rod u tell fibs ! u told me u sourced the bamboo from a organic farm in the amazon forest and had it specially imported to make paddle shafts, and was going to sell me one for $250 / shaft.
