WOW! You must be the importer of a MADE IN CHINA video camera.
Nice pimp.
It's not like all the others are not made there either, but your Aussie made claim is rubbish.
Yep, it's another camera chasing the go pro. Where they have lead, others will follow.
Got a reasonable review here, but it's not better than a go pro hero 2

C R E D I BI L I T Y

i dont hink you did Ion many favors with your post Downwinder
- the audience here is healthily sceptical

and your over the top ra ra just wont win fans - you have to be a bit smarter than you have been.

In fact i would say you have done more damage to the Ion brand than good.

Fact is the Ion is a pretty decent video camera with a nice form factor that very slightly trails the Go Pro in performance and flexibility. for a few more dollars.

And now that The new GoPro codec firmware upgrade is out - GoPro are going to be VERY difficult to catch for ultimate image quality.

wouldnt waste my money on any of these cameras unless you surf barrells a lot. They make waves look tinyBetter of spending a bit more and getting those ones that track you from the beach , better still get a mate to film you from the beach Footage was pretty cool when first started to pop up , but boring now , unless it is barrell footage.

I grabbed this little beauty.

It a new model by a company that make cameras mounted scuba masks and snow goggles.

it shoots 720, 1080HD has built in WIFI and with a bomber waterproof housing is only $280.

Its much smaller and lighter then a gopro and i still have cash left over from the price difference.

I can highly recommend it

Any footage with the camera pointed at the surfer is boring. I've said this before, when you watch porn you don't want to see the guy and all of his facial expressions, you want to see the girl...

Same as surfing, I want to imagine I'm on the wave. You can't see anything from the camera pointed at you anyway just people doing a kind of gay looking dance.

DW actually made some of the best SUP surf footage I have seen, I am not sure if from chest mount or head but I felt like I was on the wave. It was great.

Same as the DW stuff, Jeremy Riggs has made great stuff. Being able to see the wave or ocean shaping and how the rider reacts to the wave is great to watch.

The ION is backed by super heavy weights BTW, they will do fine I am sure. By all reports it's as good or better than GoPro with added features. At least it will keep Go Pro moving ahead and getting better. That's the benefit of competition.

haha too funny Reflex Films you must be a distributer? for GoPro

I gave the ION camera a test run yesterday VERY IMP-REST. Thumbs up for the ION camera s##ts all over the GoPro.
1. A lot easier to use
2. ION Support is just a phone call away
Victoria 0419942207
3. 150 minutes recording time verses GoPro only 70 minutes recording time
4. No rain coat e.g. water housing
5. Not one ounce off fogging verses GoPro after 10 minutes fog will appear
6. ION good on both water and land GoPro good on land s##t in water

I like my GoPro, I looked at the Ion as well. I haven't had a fogging issue and just changed over to the Dive Housing on the recommendation of a mate. He tells me that the fogging problem for some reason is not as prevalent when you use the dive housing.

Just to clarify though, Ion is an English brand, not Australian. They make a whole range of water gear I have had one of their dry suits and they are really very good.

I have never had problems with fogging on the Go Pro with lots of hours use. The secret is to use the anti fog inserts and dry them out after 10 or so uses.
Cameras will always fog in the tropics if not handled correctly also.
