If you are a aussie downwind freak then you have to have Hood River on your to do list in August. This place is truly the best dw place in the world. I have Downwinder most places in the world but Hood River takes the cake. You could do the run 6 times over in one day if u had the energy or your back leg wasn't ready to fall off from standing in surfing stance for so long.
Has to be on everyone's bucket list! 12km dw and then 12km of straight 100perhr hwy to get back up and do it again, takes 10min to get back up to start! The bumps are insane! There is a reason why the likes of Dave Kalama rate it as the best in the world for bumps. Well love to stay and chat but it's 9am and already 30knots so we are off for our 1st dw for today. You can still even go skiing up on Mt Hood if u really wanted to but nuh we just go dw.
Big aussie crew coming this year!

The town is full of windy players from windsurfer kiter skis and of course sooooo many sup dw people now. Its like a sup highway! So cool. Big winds run a shuttle twice a day now aswell.

Look at the size of those waves in a river!!!

That looks like such a great destination, you don't really think of it when you think about the US but they really do have some amazing countryside
