Hi everybody!
My beautiful wife likes SUPing. She is 65kg and has paddled a few times on hire soft tops and we bought a paddle to use with my 130L windsurfer board which goes great!
It's her birthday early Feb and she really likes the idea of an inflatable board to keep in the boot of her Hyundai i45.
I'm sure we are not breaking new ground here so can anyone please give me advice on boards to stay away from (ebay cheapies) or ones to go for?
We have checked out The Stand-Up Paddle Board Co boards in Bunbury and seem to be okay at $995. (I would prefer her to be on a hard board because I can see the actual inflating/pumping novelty wearing off pretty quickly...)
Thanks for your precious time!!!!!!

Hi Fieldie, did you end up getting a board yet? I'd advise to stay away from mainstream camping/fishing stores first of all, in my opinion those boards are cheap and bendy. We just got a few 10'2 inflatables land 2 weeks ago which would probably hold the both of you at 262L. And we just got stock of electric pumps too that save the "novelty" of pumping it up We can freight to WA - feel free to call us if you're interested.

I would advise getting inflatables where the skins are fused together, rather than glued together. The weight saving will be very noticeable for a lightweight woman to carry and handle it (not noticeable in the water however), and they should be more durable. Plus only quality brands bother with this technology now, so you can this way avoid the dubious ones easily.

I got my wife and girls 10'x32"x200l boards(*). longer and narrower boards would paddle faster, smaller ones would surf better, but it has the advantage in being very user-friendly, stable and not too bulky like 6" thick boards.

(*) It is Gong "Couine Maries", but they are not available in Australia, and I think all brands will be OK as long as long as they use the fusion technology.
