My sister has taken an interest is SUPing, and is asking me for advice. She will be paddling in our local city lake only. She asked me if a board from BCF would be any good ?

www.bcf.com.au/p/tahwalhi-inflatable-stand-up-paddle-board-106---turquoise-bay/614696.html?cgid=BCF0420#start=1

I recommended she get the biggest thing she could get, as she needs float. She isn't young, and has never developed her balance skills through out her life (like most of us here have). I also told her "you get what you pay for" etc.

What is people's advice ?

She may only want to try SUP'ing 1 or 2 times and then decide it isn't for her. OR, she may get totally hooked. Who knows ?. So, would a cheap board from BCF or Rays be the way to go ?. Or could this potentially give a false impression if cheap option is crappy/not-fit-for-purpose POS ?

I got into SUPing 10 years ago for about a year, but then decided to give it away. So my SUP product knowledge is very dated.

I'm telling my sister to get a 12' board, but I noticed that brands are recommending 10'6 for beginners now ?

When she takes it up at the start, weight isn't going to be an issue with her hushand is helping her, but if she goes out by her self, then it will.

It has to be inflatable. She owns a small car (smaller than mine ! )

Any advice, tips appreciated.
