Anybody tried vacume bag using infusion to wet out the glass looks easy er and less waste age / mess than the standard squigee lay up going to try experiment today with a bodysurf hand plane before try full size
yeah i've done infusion but only flat panels on glass tables.
It can be a bit of a pain overall and I've found you need to pull quite a lot of vacuum.
You need specific infusion resin.... its the same but its viscosity is more like water than resin. alternatively you can heat the resin up but this might make it gel prematurely or heat up the bank too much.
We used continuous filament matt and other specific infusion media in the skins. The core cell foam material we used also has the special infusion slits in it to allow the resin to flow through.
The important thing is to avoid air bubbles from the layup, by encouraging the resin to flow from 1 end of the job to the other. you may need multiple resin entry points but make sure you dont trap any air and you open up the resin ports in a staged manner.
Make sure you have a good drop pot and always make a resin brake inside the bag.

The jobs and resin i used got really hot and i think would destroy an EPS board. I also believe it is much harder to control resin content and will be heavier.
I'd just run a wet out table to be honest.

yep not easy bertie resin is to thick only managed to pull 150 mm down a 300 mm hand plane resin started to gel off after 35 mins, back to the drawing board like you say a wet up table better orjust have to be patient one layer at a time , plan is to hand lay one layer of carbon on the bottom with good wrap on rails let dry then 1layer of carbon under balsa vac baged on dek and finish off with one more layer of 6 oz over dek .carbon to expensive to mess up job experimenting .
