Went for a paddle at Kirra today and went for a snorkel on Kirra reef , great to see it coming back , lots of fish around too. Was not as clear as id hoped but ill be definitely going again and take advantage of the clear water we have at present. Here is a couple snaps I took , average I know but so is the camera I took them with. Im planning a snorkel excursion to Cook island if any one is interested or if you want to come snorkel Kirra reef , let me know.
Cook Island is of Fingal Northern NSW , its only about 800m or so off the mainland , really good diving spot and a good snorkel on the Southern side. Been once and always been keen to go back , turtles leopard sharks manta rays dolphins and this time of year , very clear.
Tea tree, I am taking 45 students to snorkel Cook island tomorrow.
Best snorkelling around this area from 5m to about 27m
I will be on scuba filming students on the Go Pro. Been heaps of sharks, turtles and rays there recently.
Seen some good little peelers breaking on the north side which you could ride.
Is there anywhere to tie up a board while you snorkel so it doesn't wash into the rocks? Have paddled past heaps of times but never tried to stop before.
i generally try to get past cook island as fast s i can and pay extra attention to try not to fall of . sharky place
