Hi, has anyone taken a board to Lombok before or know of someone who has? I am going there in June and would be interested in any tips or advice.

Many thanks.

Yep
Was in Lombok last week for a week.
Without naming breaks I Surfed several of the diff waves there and had x 3 diff day boat trips from x 3 diff ports.
Had a board rack scooter set up and used a vehicle and guide for the boat access waves.
No prob with Garduda with the sup's, took an 8 and an 8'6.
Locals not so happy on set waves and tourists regardless of your vessel of choice it seems, get a good guide from Kuta for boat access waves, I engaged Martin from Beach Boys. Great info, ripping surfer, gift them a few blocks of tropical wax and you will be well received.
Bad etiquette could end in some serious violence at this place, just look up Sassak history.
Checked a few mellow looking spots on my scooter that looked ok.
Opted out of a couple of sessions due to numbers.
Standard Euro/USA surf beginner everywhere on a lot of the mellower waves and the boats are expensive for what you get.
A popular river mouth wave in one of the well known bays had a croc attack on a local fisherman a few weeks ago.
As on all my travels thus far I was the only Stand Up rider and received loads of stink eye until waves ridden and etiquette displayed.
Negotiating prices for boats etc is a waste of time.
Loads of info on the MOST of the waves on the web to fish through.
Discovery mixed with a bit of danger is the best part of travelling.
Have fun and stay safe.
