Holy crap, that's a lot of people on one craft.

Bet the balance is tricky.

Only 52 ?
I can see more room on that Sup.
Surely you could have got 60 on there.

Well they are stand-up paddling and if that's what's needed for an official Sup record, I'll give it to them.
Must have been a bit of a challenge too - cause none of them look very relaxed...

But am I the only one wondering at what point the craft can still be termed a stand up paddle BOARD?

At least they're all wearing PFD's incase it springs a leak or capsizes on the way.

She was custom built specifically for the challenge, and was lancer the manufacturers first sup - they will take orders and tack on a few metres if any one fancies topping the number

The crew was a mix of experienced paddlers and first timers hence the "gripping on tight with the toes" look, these included a few kids from The Child Cancer Foundation who it raised money for.

The adjudication by the Guinness Book of World Record people was crazily tight, we had to go 100 metres without loosing anyone otherwise it was back to the start. It was blowing 20 knots so that wouldn't have been easy, and we managed it to do two successful runs.

It was in front of a big crowd at the Auckland boat show so it was a great bit of promotion for the sport by the team at Lancer and Jetts City Surf Series #citysurfseries
