From what I've gathered it was an inexperienced couple who mistook that area for the harbor entrance. I guess it's pretty easy to do in that kind of surf. When the guy realized he was in deep s&*t, he panicked and came off the throttle and they got destroyed... lucky they weren't both killed. We just lost a Honolulu Fire brother to a jetski training accident in much smaller surf and I'm still shaking my head at this. The company that rented the ski to those people in those conditions should be held accountable in my opinion. Still amazed they didn't get absolutely destroyed.

maybe somewhat, but ignorance is no excuse. If you have little or no water experience and have zero fear of surf like that, I figure Darwin will step in.
Those Lifeguards (clubbies here) are pretty awesome, unreal, how's the boat getting straight in there?
