I'm new here! Just wondering if you could give me some advice on this board and whether you think it's a manufacturers fault.
We bought the board for my fiancée as a gift and during the first few uses it came home with a split, even though there had been no collisions, with human board or paddle.
This weekend we also noticed some weird touch up paint.

Half wondering if poor worker in an Asia factory has been getting a bit overzealous sanding over where the glass laps? Like human error due ongoing exposure to deadly toxic fumes?
Looks like on the black pin stripe these is some scuffing that looks like it has had a impact of some sort. Only person who can say its a warranty or not is the place tou got it from and eveyone on here is really just guessing.
Boards usally don't just fall apart and it will be pretty easy to see if that is a factory fault or not so before you get 20 people saying yes or no on here i would just take it back and ask.

Anyway - YES - take it back and show them. Most surfshops are great to deal with. They need to be to keep up with the online sellers. The one advantage the physical shops have is the opportunity to provide excellent face-to-face customer service.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen but really no body on here could really give a fair answer, without seeing it and touching it its really just guessing and that helps no body. If any one has this sort of thing and are worried that the shops might just make stuff up i would suggest taking it to a good repair shop and get them to have a look and do report if they also think there is a fault.

Take it to a local repair guy and get them to do a report on it, if its a trusted repairer then that could be enough for them to maybe help in some way. This i guess is ine reason to shop local even if you do pay a bit more a least you have someone to talk to if this kind of thing does happen.
Have had a starboard for years and still cant break it. Had a cheap Chinese board off major online retailer and it was faulty first surf. Three boards later and they are all faulty.
The old saying "you get what you pay for" is so true.
