Here are a couple of short Clips well worth viewing.
With all the talk of the Vanguard style boards and Minion thread reads on this sight these clips IMO are what SUP surfing is about.
Yes I have seen the JP Slate clip however I am still currently not that sold on this design and Yes I have owned and surfed one of these hyped design boards for 3 months and have recently sold it on. As my home breaks are ground swell driven I may have missed the point literally.
Perhaps soon I may eat some humble pie and see more clips of the top guys riding the Vanguard inspired boards in competition and Videos.
Adding more clips to this thread would be a cool way to let " The surfing tell the story "
Yes Coastie The SUP Movie is great viewing.
Unfortunately Mo Frietas section is not long enough, looking forward to a ' Mo Frietas ' Movie one day.
Vaz brothers clip attached is also well worth a viewing or two.
A clip from early last year that a lot of forum readers will have already seen, Mo Frietas can SUP surf
Good clips ay... Each to there own with minions and vanguards etc i like the fact that the vanguards etc are getting crew out of there comfort zones and on to a shorter sup and making the surfing expirence of suping lot ore enjoyable.
works for some doesn't work for other but personally I froth on watching older crew going out on boards under 8 ft and ripping like they are 20 again
Cheers Ashmullet
I agree any equipment that gets people out on the water and having a go or even thinking about getting out on the water more often is great.
As I live down in Vic and surf the beach breaks at my end of the Peninsula more than Westernport I have never seen anyone ride a Minion or Vanguard.
Thats why I'd love to see some performance Vanguard Minion clips posted on this thread.
I had some great moments on my 8' yet found the wide tail at times too much of a disadvantage.
Hopefully I can demo some different brands and upcoming new models without having to buy them first.
Back to the Easter eggs , kids and the start of Bells coverage
Happy Easter
Yes I've seen the JP Slate clips too and they are good but not great. Just wish I had a camera so that I could show you Matt Lumley ripping the sh!t out of the waves at Torquay Point on a Deep Minion over the last couple of weekends .... 360s, aerials and everything in between. I even over heard one of the local well known and highly respected short boarders talking to another guy saying he couldn't believe how brilliant it was. I'm not pushing any barrows here, just saying that the majority of great sup surfing never gets filmed and just because you haven't seen it on a video doesn't mean it ain't happening.
Stoked to hear.
Im over to Torquay towards the end of next week.
SUP is moving fast its hard to decipher whats possible and what might be a fad when stuck at low SUP number locations
Cheers
Thanks for contributing Kami
Your board design posts are insightful and educational.
Attached is one of my favourite Riviera clips, mellow tunes combined with some cool rides and Ryan Helms snub fin spins are an interesting interpretation of SUP board riding.
This is my latest movie Living The Stoke 2 Fiji. The whole movie is full of Seabreeze members including , Keahi de Aboitiz , The Dogman , Geoff Breen , Andy Davies and 3 times Australian Sup Champ Jackson Close . Some epic footage at Cloudbreak with the boys charging some solid stuff.
You can rent the 39 min movie for just over 6 bucks or buy for just under 20 bucks Full HD download , hope you enjoy and thanks for the support.

Here is a link to a great clip. Not everyones cup of tea yet a great interpretation and a true art form of board riding.
Surfing without a leg rope is very dangerous and not at all recommended.

This clip shows Ryan Helms training and dedication to his finless and snub fin surfing.
This Guy has a lot to answer for! After seeing his first videos, I took out my fins (last October) hoping for some cool spins and sideways re-entries, etc. After six months I can catch waves, go right, cut back, go left and do some controlled side slipping. Now I feel ready to learn to spin. This is not something you learn in an afternoon! in my defense, I am an old dog learnng new tricks. I won't post any vids until i can spin like RH. I have to say that I am enjoying myself. Looking forward to finless fun on winter swells! Yahoo!
Keep on learning new trick Larry and i reckon finless board is futur specially for SUP because paddle is the fin in itself before being a roar .
Watch this guy he is mastering trick it would be the guy i need to test pilot my FLEXTAIL short SUP have done , don't you think
I wish to not highjack this SUP section showing this nice video of Fred universal surfer, he is an excellent SUPer as well
