Besides the 'tattoo' decals on the deck-anyone have any idea how you tell a 2008 Naish SUP board from a 2009 Naish SUP board?
Is there any difference between the models other than the tattoo decals (2008 being largish a wave inside a lined area and 2009 being a series of very small wavy lines inside and outside the box).
Specifically looking at 10'6" and 11'4" models if that helps.
Thanks for any help.
i think the 11'4 is a 2009
and i dont think there is a difference between the 10'6
only the decal
but dont quote me
call the importer of naish from the naish website
they love talking about cr@p till their ears bleed..lol...
i heard its coming in july
and a 17 foot ocean board and 18 foot flat water board
sometime soon after
a dude with bleeding ears told me
Whats the difference with the 9 6" naish (if there Is one) ? Cause I wouldnt be changing nothing on this winning formula , If it aint broke, dont fix it!!
08 naish 11'6-for those that can't remember-Pre naish deck grip.
I like the idea of the screw hole instead of the track.
My old 08 11'6 had a whiteish fin not black...if that helps. One leash plug, mast track and wavy tattoo.
I personally would'nt buy a sub If It had a ( screw In mast track) or what ever the hell that Is, It is a stand up paddle board, not a winsurfer If you want a windsurfer, go get one

As far as I can work out here's the differences:
2008 boards have the large wave logo inside straight lines. 2009 have the small waves logo going outside lines.... True.
2008 boards have a mast track to attach a sailboard rig. 2009 boards have a screw hole... Not true.. Some 08 boards had a screw hole for a mast base.
2008 boards have one leash plug. 2009 boards have 2 leash plugs... Not true. (depending on the board)
2008 boards have a solid black centre fin. 2009 boards have wood and glass centre fin... Also not true. (depending on the board)
end quote...
Also interesting to note that Robby said that changes and new boards will continue to happen as soon and as often as they can and there will not be an 08/09/10/11 range of boards as such.
Why do you ask..and did you end up getting one?

Ended up with a 10'6" that's why I asked-sworn to be a 2009 model-and it has:
The waves INSIDE the box.
Screw not mast track.
Black fin.
Two plugs.
Thoroughly confused-also has an 08' serial number.
Doesn't really matter-so long as the board goes well.
Are there any difference in the SHAPE of the board? The 09' in the photo above looks slightly more refined through the nose foil.
Been riding my 6'1" the pat few days-waves too cranking for me on a SUP-rather be on the shortboard.
Appreciate the friendliness and relative civility of this forum-wonder how long it will be until the sport gets so big that it will devolve into the usual antagonistic, tribal us and themness of most surf forums.....saw it happen with kitesurfing on the yahoo groups from the late 90's to when that group died in the early mid 2000s.
Thanks.
Here's my '08' model Naish against the '09' Naish AST
My early '08' Naish (i got it in Jan 08) has a white fin not a black one.
My Naish on the left and the AST on the right.
Hey Champ.. The new AST's are different again.. They have NAISH in big black letters down the side.
Congrats on the new 10'6" loco.. It's a great board (as long as you're not too heavy).
I'm hoping that the new Naish 10'6" will be something like this..
