Hey all,
Currently I'm surfing a 9'2 evoke carbon which is a fun little board. Looking at a second hand 9'5 naish mana to add to the collection.
Curious as to how these surf compared to the evoke? Would there be much difference in the boards?
The first 9'5" Mana's were 31" wide and pretty good but the newer shape is 32" wide and soooooo much better. IMO it's an excellent board and I've had a few of them.
I think you will find the Mana more stable and more forgiving (easier to surf) than the Evoke but you need to try and demo both before buying if you can.
Great boards mate ...easy to surf ...quite fast on a wave ...good all rounder .
if you can get a GT 2015 -2017 model your gonna get a good one .
has it got the blue under Neath .

This is the only pic I have of it so far. I am going to investigate it this weekend.

kinda wish I'd kept my 9.5 ,great in smaller wave with the extra float .163 litre s ..
Me ...9:5 mana love it .... great board, at 32 wide ... less struggle more fun... yep getting older.
Her...small enough, stable enough to casual paddle and put it in and out herself

I think it would be better to have more different boards in a quiver. To complement the Evoke, you may perhaps want to go more longboard with a narrow 10', or more shortboard with a 8'-something one...

Cool video mate. Do you have any more on youtube or anything?
How do you find the board durability wise? Does it take a few bumps and knocks well?
Hey Scotchman72
DJ's vid says more than I can type here... the proofs in the pics.

bumps and bashes wise, my kids use it, enough said kids are kids and it still is in fantastic nick

The 9'5" Mana goes great on bigger waves but my bigger waves are waves like Big-Left at Flindes and it's a bombie like point break wave that lets you ride the shoulder.
I'm thinking that in a big sucky beach break wave it might not be as good but even then it comes down to rider skills than board shape.
Here's another vid on one of my older 9'5" Mana's.
How does the 10' compare to the 9'5" ?.has anyone ridden both???Also how does the bamboo compare to the the gtw.
Is it worth the money to buy bamboo as there is only a kilo in weight difference.I have an old mana and love it,tried cheaper boards from the Gold Coast and had nothing but trouble, delamination, easily damaged, cracks around fin boxes, hassle with the dealers. Had the Mana for 5 yrs not a problem left it on cars in hot sun, taught people to sup,it's stood up to the misuse. My opinion if your buying a board buy brand.
