At last, I was able to relocate to the Hossegor spots! I will remote work from my new home in Seignosse.

Here a quick vid at the end (tide too high) of a small sunny session to celebrate!

Well, I never surf Lafitenia or Ghuétary, they tend to be a gigantic asshole magnet, can't stand the mood.

2 days ago Hossegor was on fire, but I safely was on smaller peaks (where I got quite a beating anyways :-). Footage of me will depend on the ability of my wife to wake up early :-). Vids of this magic Thursday:

You usually show up this time of year, this time for good. Well arranged. You're right, lafit is a no go zone and parlementia takes a thick skin.

I am am away and realized I was missing swell, now I know how bad. Thanks for the vids and see you in the water.

Great vids colas. . In the second one what type of drone did you use? I"m looking at getting one soon to get similar types of footage but unsure which to go for. I"m leaning towards the Phantom 3, any advice.

Now that's a shame, i have fond memories of them from '96. Nobody bothered to paddle out before 9 except the tourists....which suited us tourists nicely.

Here's to some uncrowded sessions and juice beneath your feet, then.

Well, it's still to be had, just not there. Back then the locals were more laid back, the early got you waves to yourself, or with a sprinkling of traveling aussies, californians, english, ect. By 10 it would start to fill in. But now, like many places, the headline spots are manned from the get go.

But in between them, far from the parking...

Only the top vid is mine! The 2 others are by professionnal photographers.

On Seabreeze, Von Piros is quite the expert about Drones. He made an interesting comparison of some models, but alas, I cant find it!

To be honest, you can SUP there (Lafit, Ghuetary, ...). Friends have done it without hassle, with the proper non-greedy behavior. It is just that I personally started surfing (40 years ago...) in the "pays basque" and got my dose of braindead locals there, so when I discovered Hossegor and its always changing sandbanks (north of the permanent ones), I got addicted to places where you wont find human barnacles stuck to the same place in the spot for decades.

I've had a couple of phantoms and they are a good starter drone, but frequently have some vibration through the shot and the legs often get in the frame.

More expensive drones with more rotors are more stable. Like a lot of things you get what you pay for, but the law of diminishing returns sets in for incremental improvements and the back pocket also has an opinion on what can be spent.

Redgy, try to PM Von Piros. He seems to have removed the videos (and posts) he made to review some drones, I guess due to legal problems. If my memory is good, he was praising another brand than Phantom (3DR ?), especially wrt the price of replacement parts.
