Yep...that time of year again

As you can see this one is pretty short...seven two to be precise
Dont want to get into the merits of short v long. Ride what you want, cause no harm and be stoked!!
I Know I am!
This board continues the design thread I've been exploring for the last couple of years and is known locally as "The Cuttlefish" cos the bottom contour closely resembles that of a cuttle bone

You can see what I am on about in this pic...deep, deep single concave coupled with what amounts to a reverse stepped rail...that is from the bottom up. Kinda ironic really as for years I was an advocate of the traditional stepped rail ie from the deck side down.

As usual a brilliant shaping job by Simon Forward of 4D surf design and glassing on this one was done by Torquay epoxy maestro Cusso Thanks to local long board legend Sladey for the countless hours that he put into the design and for keeping me in stitches over numerous cups of tea on the deck...and thats as close to a pimp as I'm ever going to get!!
Happy to chat about the board and performance and design specs if anyone is interested.
Cheers and Happy New Year Breezers

Just to give a bit of a visual on the evolution of the beast

The yellow board was two years ago and was sort of a proof of concept
It went OK but didnt have quite enough volume, not enough reverse step in the rail and in reality was more of a hull than a full on concave.

You can see the rolled bottom a little more clearly in this shot as it sits next to the last of my traditional step rail boards.

This was last years model and you can see that we are starting to get pretty close to the full blown "cuttlefish", more concave and much more of an edge off the bottom rail.

Anyway
Loving the journey
Get to know the shaper down the road and keep it local!!
Cheers
Sparx
