Hey ,
My GF's fave paddle shaft snapped again decided to bin it (keep it for sleeves on future breaks) has anyone got a QB shaft laying around they want to offload ?
Its 26 mm in diameter.

Yes I do read.
Quickblade Flyweight paddles aren't exactly common in Australia.
I doubt anyone has a "new second hand" shaft laying around.
In case you didn't realise, Quickblade paddles of that type come pre-assembled not as seperate parts ala Kenalu.
My suggestion was to simply ask Quickblade directly if they could help with a shaft on its own. They are very helpful in that regards if you actually contact them.

it was a joke at him, not on you. Who the **** has spare shafts lying around for their paddles, and what are the chances its going to be the right one for him.
I kinda gathered that much.
Just throwin some sarcasm out there.
But for the OP, seriously try Quickblade direct.

Or buy a Ke Nalu
if it was assembled with hotglue it will come apart easily , if it was assembled with 5 minute epoxy there will be a very small (5-10 degrees c)temperature difference between the glue softening and the laminating resin softening , if you twist the shaft when the blade resin is soft the neck of the paddle will get destroyed .. good luck
if it was glued with epoxy and the shaft is already destroyed i personally would cut it off near the end of the neck and mechanically remove it , a prick of a job but very safe

happy to be a dick if the likes of people needing to be spoon fed are the good ones....
this thread is just another in the line of: "how do I tie my board on my car", "can I leave my board in the sun", "How many liters is that board", "how do I put deck grip on in under 8hrs without getting stressed out", "why would someone do something other than what I think is cool" etc
There seems to be a link between SUP'rs and lack of common sense. This is not only shown on websites like this but on the water.
Merry Christmas, dont grab you girlfriends shaft to hard in 2015, you might snap it off and have to wear the pants for a change
