Bought a board.
Random search from Gumtree,
My current obsession with PSH fulfilled.
waited almost two months hoping someone else would buy it, 700 km road trip to get it, and I don't know what it is.
The bag is as new and un marked.
The board looks brand new.
Unmarked top and bottom
Love it!
Tail shape is beautiful
Rail bevel is tricky, I have no idea why , the bottom a hull shape.
The hull again
Beautiful shape
Lots of volume towards the tail.
AA, Hilly, Robdog, The Freeze, what is it?
I love it and don't really care what it is.
But I would like to know.
Caused the demise of PSH that board did. Heavy and unstable but apparently surfed ok. I sent one back I reckon they are dogs.
Hull Paddler. I have a 9'7" which I reckon is older, albeit mine has a quad fin option.
I think they are relatively heavy and damage easily, so take care of it! (It looks in great condition).
Yeah a Hull Ripper or paddle. I rode 3 or 4 different ones. The boards had their moments of froth but they also did weird things. So much hype was around the launch they sold like hot cakes but production couldn't keep up then there were build quality issues. Blane pulled out of the China factory but the factory kept making his boards and selling to who ever. I know the surfboard warehouse on the Goldie when they first opened was selling them unbadged but with PSH grip. None of these boards had sizes on them. Which makes think you have one of these. Construction is much cheaper than original. AA might fill in some more gaps.
Gee Noz,
Sounds like it might be the next "jettison from roof racks" candidate...
Don't tell Ann (the wife one) about these reports...
Hull Paddler. Prob 9'7. The beveled rails didn't work so well on the smaller boards - Hull Rippers but they worked a treat on the bigger wider Hull paddlers. It gave super stable, entry level boards excellent glide and ease of turning. It ended up being our most popular PSH board for many years and it is a shape that would still sell today.
Just dont expect high-end performance out of it, but as your first board, with a bit of performance works a treat. The big Hawaiian bra-boys loved em!
Noz, check the bag again...Lorin may be hiding in there!
And...book me a session on the red or blue 12'PSH! (nice vid Andrew!)
Seller told me the new board was a 9'3" which confused me for a while.
Just measured it and it's 9'7" as near as I can get.
So 9'7" Hull Paddler and I'm only 8 years behind the times.
And no sign of Lorin anywhere
Nozza dont ride it put it on the wall, be worth plenty in years to come,i rode the 10.6 once not for me im afraid but i reckon it will mark a place in sup history somewhere down the track, tis in beaut condition.
Feck how do you turn the 12er with those fins
I always ran the smallest fins I could. Heaps of owners added quads to make them turn. What was that Hawaiian whiz kid who used to ride PSH er Noah look at some of his early vids.
Fantastic board!
I had one as my first board and was perfect to learn on and I wish I had kept it, big red one!
I actually like to get up on the top half of the Venom in small surf.
That thing is so stable and versatile . I am thinking I should try it as a quad . So far I have actually only used it as a single centre fin.
have to wait for broken thumb to heal first
