Hahaha, yes it does look like him. that guy wasnt even in the comp, but just decided to paddle out in the middle of it. He blended in perfectly.
It was a good fun day, despite the wipeouts .
It is probably worth mentioning that, even though the wind dropped slowly during the contest, it was a howling (and cold) offshore in many of the heats, making takeoffs particularly difficult on a 10 foot board. You can see the wind whipping the tops off the waves and the chop coming up the wave face in a number of the photos.
...and thanks to Chris Clarke for taking photos while nursing injured ribs (occasioned from big waves the day before the contest).
