With half of Sydney thinking the world will end next Monday when there is a proposed train strike, perhaps it's time to explore an alternate way to get to work. Why not SUP?

This morning, I drove to Rose Bay with my inflatable sup, blew it up, took the pump and my wallet and phone in a dry bag (I had already left work clothes at the office), and paddled the 5km to the Man O War Steps at the Opera House. Although tempted to carry the board right up Pitt St, I deflated the board in the Botanic Gardens and walked up to the office with the board in the bag.

All up, it took it exactly 2 hours door-to-door, but it was an interesting start to the day.

Not sure about the paddle back this afternoon going in to the nor-easter.

Well done.
Good thinking and an awesome way to start and finish the day.

Pity you have to work in Sydney though.

Yep. Sydney sucks. Transport even worse.
Well done on the paddle. Pretty ballsy using inflatable in the harbour .

I actually cheated a bit on the way home, as I didn't want to paddle in to that wind. I caught a ferry to Watsons Bay, and then paddled back from there (with the intention of getting a bit of a downwind run). Unfortunately the wind died off a bit, but I was still able to get on a couple of bumps.
