The 2013 Redink Homes King of the Cut

Where - Dawesville Cut to Singleton Beach Mandurah WA
When - Sunday 8th of December
Entry - https://supwa.tidyclub.com/public/events/443-king-of-the-cut

20km epic downwinder, along the Peel coastline. Best possible conditions for a downwinder and great alternative course options for breeze direction.
There was a lot of talk about this event over at the Nationals, plenty of the East Coast crew are gearing up to come over to take a chunk of the $4000 prize money on offer, including $1200 for the King of the Cut (line honours).

Divisions:
Male Under 40 14'
Male Over 40 14'
Male Over 50 14'

Female Open 14'

Unlimited Open (>14')

More details to come, including Board rental and accommodation options.

Here's a teaser from last year's event:

Can't wait.

How happy am I, had my first DWer on my new board in Currumbin yesterday (great event and fantastic location, fun but not ideal conditions on the day)

I arrived home to Perth tonight, i've got the rest of the week off and check forecast.

and then I watched that KOTC vid.

Good one Stix, if I don't see you before I will definitely try to 'catch you at The Cut', after last years run I was looking forward to it already but a new board is just making me even more anxious.

It would be great if a few of the other O/50's (and youngsters) we met at Currumbin could make it over, I know it's not easy to get a board over but if you can, or you can beg, borrow or steal hire one, do it, this event should be a cracker.

Perhaps the South Oz crew could drag that trailer full of boards over this side this time.

Sorry not sure if that post read right. The above retailers have racing SUPs for hire for the KotC.

We had a great response from 10-15 of our members to put up interstate paddlers for the weekend. So what are you waiting for? - cash in those frequent flyers and fly out Friday night for 2 days of DW heaven, back Sunday night!

Here's a few pics from last nights run on the cut run. After the tragedy down south Ashlea thought she would drive along the coast and keep an eye on me last night. Should be a even better run tonight, gonna join the local ski paddlers training for the doctor.

Can't say what my preference would be on the shark debate, just gotta get out and enjoy, besides might make everyon paddle a lot faster.
