looking to head to Sunur in early July for a SUP trip, worth it?????

I believe it gets windy mid morning onwards both hoping that a few hours each morning would be suitable to surf

Not the best time of the year on that side of Bali - but you do not have to travel far to the other side - but traffic can be manic as the day progresses. July is a very very windy month. So although the winds may drop off over night you may struggle to get great waves at Sanur in the mornings. But if you search a bit you will

July is generally too windy

Go and see Liong at Hyatt Boardriders
He will do guided sup trips around the island
As he is a local its always cool to surf with him
He is also board/paddle maker and has some great gear

Was in Sanur July last year. Had the best waves ever but only in early morning when glassy and on mid-high tide. I'm here now in fact, with winds from the right direction in the morning but absolutely no swell. Praying for better days to come!

Hi Vandals

Did you take your Sunova with you ?

Looks like some swell towards the end of the week , lights winds the norm this time of year
You do get the odd good weather (light winds) in July if your lucky
Hope you get some swell and enjoy the weather
I will be back in Sanur soon

Yes, brought my Sunova with me. No hassles at all except for lack of swell. Went out this morning but only the odd knee-high wave. The water was boiling with schools of fish and the coral looked amazing so it wasn't a waste of time though.

Bonus - high tide, glassy conditions, chest-high walls and no-one else out. Two hour session. Perfect for an old bloke!

Hey Vandals keep it quite mate, no waves on that side of the island

I normally go later in the yr.
If you are near Segara Village hotel say hi to Ronnie @ the Ayu water sports out the front (blue shirts), He has some inflatables for hire there(my sup's) & would be keen to go for a paddle with you.
Been teaching him how to SUP,he's a 60yr old grommet !
Luthu's for coffee next door best on the Island

Ok Cool

The 2 reefs out the front of Sindhu Beach / Markets are Tanjung Lefts and Rights

If you have the energy grab a boatman and head south to Hyatt Reef or further down to Shipwrecks(wreck is gone) , Simzy and Baby reefs

Enjoy the rest of your trip and hope the weather swell turns it on for you
Cheers

I was there last august and while it does tend to be windy and the swell smaller than when I've been there in February I still had some great morning sessions with very few out. Probably had 50% of the days with good fun waves compared to 80% in Feb.
