Going on a trip to Italy shortly, does anyone know of any Sup Hires in Cinque Terra or Amalfi Coast?
Thanks
try on www.worldwindsurf.com you should find all info around italy...or try at se.kiteforum.com/standuppaddle/country/Italy or try www.standuppaddling.it/ and www.standuppaddleitalia.it/ - i remenber a place near amalfi it was CETARA ... good for windsurf and surf..but that was long time ago!
Levanto beach hires Sups for 10 euros per hour. The board I used was 11 4 Bic "Peter Pan".
Nice warm weather and water.
(have some photos but can't load using my iPad #%^{€£!!!!)
Hi Folks,
Just returned from Amalfi Coast and pleased to report that yes, you can hire SUPs in Positano (about a 30 minute ferry ride from Amalfi). It is ony 10 euros/hr. Had beautiful glassy conditions with a spectacular backdrop. Equipment is what you'd expect but who cares after weeks of wine, pizza and pasta. Was there for 4 days and never saw anyone else paddling...if they knew what they were missing the'd be out there too.
No sign of SUPs in other locations like Lake Como or Cinque Terra still. Note, can rent SUPs from Quik store in Barcelona but overpriced at 25 euros/hr.
Enjoy,
JT
re. SUP in Cinque Terre
Levanto beach is the next town north (see my earlier post).
It was in the World Longboarding series last year but had no swell during the contest period.
Saw some great photos of their surf at other times.
They even have a surf shop there.
