Hi there,

I am planning a Campervan trip form Cairns to Sydney and wondering if anyone has taken a SUP in it.I am planning to hire those apollo campervans for 2ppl and my SUP is a 8.5. I also never been in a campervan, so I am not familiar with its size and space. I guess putting it in the roof is out of question. Do you think it would fit inside?

Any tips?
Thanks,
Franklin

Hi. Yeh some of the hire campers have tie down points on the wall or roof. An 8'5" should fit behind the front seats on top of the seat / bed.
My 9'6" longboard fits in the back of my van (ILoad) easily. My 10'6" sup fits between the front seats on an angle, so I would suggest you should be ok.

I think you will be fine you just have to manage it through the camper door which will be a 2 person job. I almost got my 10'8 through the door of a caravan it just didn't quite have the width to the back wall due to the shower.

of course I don't have that problem now I have a Vito it's longer than an iload, I can fit a 12'6

Suggest maybe some of that sticky Matt stuff on the floor to stop it slipping too much and in a board bag
