A short video I made about catching waves in very strong offshore winds

Think like a sailor...
They can't go straight upwind.... so they tack.
So do I.... using my back as a sail

I can angle my back, to maximize it's "sail" potential.... even in straight offshore winds.
There is ALWAYS a way to use the wind, regardless of the direction.

I left the following stuff out of the video to keep it simple:
Stagger your feet in semi surf stance
front foot forward.... and lean into it.

Paddle low and hard .... like you mean it!

AND:
to surf in high winds, wave knowledge and timing are absolute necessities.
ALL boards become weapons in high wind. Be smart!

Nice one creek ..it sure is a art surfing in strong wind ...

strong paddling ....I kneel on my board a lot ,so as not to get blown out too far ...

did you make that last wave ?
