Looks like we have about 12 sup teams so far. Will start the paddle boards and sups, off together. It's going to be great.
Johnny..Are there any females teams showing interest yet? My partner and I are keen but not sure of the distance of the race..ie...we will make it ??
There was rumour going around that the girls relay will consist of 3 paddler ? Is there any truth in this ?
They (don't you love that saying?) reckon the fastest male SUP paddler eg. Woogie or Jaimi is the same pace as an average paced OC1 women paddler. So that leaves the SUP women finishing in the dark !!

Should be a good race, I've seen heaps of people out there training. Lets hope we get the wind to play with some strong S'lys blowing. I know me and bend over will have to do a lot of paddling in the next week or so just so well be fit enough to make it.
Hey sue did you get an answer on that 3 girl team question cause it would be some thing to work on for next year if not this year, i know angie is keen to get in to some racing and after today's paddle it looks like I'll have to find a big board for her as well.

Hi Sue,
I think that teams of 3 females are ok and prob a good idea until the females can reach the same level as the guys.
I didn't think i would like distance paddling even thou i've been doing fitness classes on sups. I gave the distance thingy a good go this morning on a dc16 and I've got to admit, i actually really enjoyed it.
Gonna head out for it again tomorrow morning.

Tried to back it up this morning with another 10km paddle on the dc16 again and with jake on 12ft.
Found it very hard as all my upper body was very sore from yesterdays paddle but i loved it.
I think i'm getting the distance paddling bug!
