What are my chances I'll be able to fly with my 9'2" board with Singapore Air PER to CPT?

Going for business but have two weekends up my sleeve and know where I want to go.

Alternative is just take the paddle and rent... but it is such a pain and more $$$

Pity you dont want a Speed 8.2 or 7.11 and bring that to Cape Town. Im trying to get one here but it costs 750$ just for transport.
What sort of 9.2 are you wanting in Cape Town.

I have flown with Singapore Airlines a few times with boards and did not have problems - not that route, but I don't see why that would be an issue. I don't think the length will be an issue.

Don't know the speeds.
Happy to bring you a board if you have something I can use when I am there and save me the hassle of dragging a board back to Perth
I have a JP 9'2" pro but could ride most wave boards >120l (my board is 136). Just needs to be light!

I fly 4/8 from here.

I flew 2 weeks ago Sinapore airline maldives 8.2" no extra cost, slight damage to tail section packed with foam, must have been moved during inspection. Nothing to major.

can't help with Singapore airlines or wisdom of flying a board over... I shipped my quiver out here when it came time to move.
speak with PeterP (he's on the breeze under that name) or GvR @ XOTB (Muizenberg, CT) for a local rental.
beware: if you're looking to ride some of the classic waves - SUP may be an issue... plenty of other breaks around with plenty of juice that time of year.
PM me if you want to know more.

I havnt been able to organize the board I wanted anyway so dont worry about that.

Thanks Sean
A mate of mine owns a surf shop in Muizenberg and apparently now stocks SUPs too, so I am just taking my paddle.

Tannaman good luck with your hand shaped board. Heard many good things about the Sunova Speeds.

What's the deal with flying with SUPs without an airvent? my windsurf boards say to undo the vent when flying but my Fanatic SUP doesn't have a vent. Same with the JP's?
