Nice!
Stranget how BIG the waves photographed, when if you where there it looked a lot smaller. Still, some pretty amazing surfing, especially in the U/21s.
@Danny,.comp was at Birubi. Basically the first beach at the northern end of Stockton Bight, up from Newcastle. A bit of a magnet for the southerly swell that prevailed through the comp.
Great pics and a great venue for the comp ,the new Birubi surf club is insane.
Thanks Piros. Yes we are pretty happy with the new surf club. General consensus is:" if we have to have it" they have done a pretty good job. Definitely good coffee after an early surf.
Thanks Surfers Shane , I thought it was given the prevailing conditions
One of many great waves in the bay

Now isn't that the recognised white pointer nursery area? There was a doco of blokes game fishing for them off the front of a landy from the beach a few years ago. Good place for a race, I spose....

Ha ha, did you see my post about "Who the Hell is Laird". Have a look back a few pages. You will appreciate the photo.
There are also huge schools of Australian Salmon in the Bight, so the whites are pretty well feed. Most seem to congregate around the Sygna wreak. Can't believe this is where someone told Team Laird they should go surfing? Nice view of locals from up there on a SUP!
Mad shot of the new Birubi Surf Club and cafe.
Was up there in January.
Magic spot Port Stephens.
Have taken the family there every Xmas hols for past 8 years.
It's handy to have a spot which blows off shore in a NE.
