Well I just returned from the south coast, and well, it was pretty small. Although I got a decent session yesterday in the southerly on my shortboard, the best session this morning on my 9' Mal. However, in line with this forum, I did get a very SMALL session on the 9'5" Mana. We ended up making a comp out of it where we had to copy what the other person was doing, and yes kooky moves were the idea (ie paddle twirls and couch manouvers).
Anyway, awsome fun, and great shaped waves even if they were less than knee high!
I always love a good twirl
4 of us out, 2 of which was their first time, awesome to see them get into it, one even got waves!

Looks like fun JB, micro but fun conditions here in Sydney on Sat, but had a fun sess with my 10yo on his new SUP. Pumped yesterday though, some double overhead sets out the end of longy around 11am.
I was down there all weekend staying in one of the clifftop mansions at Flat Rock. It really is an amazing place and got given the full local drive by of all of the best breaks, semi secret and all. I am completely amazed that so many great waves can be packed that close together in an area that gets reliable swell. Had one fun surf only and shared the line up with a 6 foot Bronzey chomping salmon and my gracious host. A 20 minute 4wd trip followed by a 10 min walk through dunes under and over bushes to get there.
Rarely do you see knee high waves come in sets of 3 or 4 barrell and spit on a reef ledge and then look at 1000 pics of the same wave breaking in the same way at 5 feet.
The lack of swell allowed me to partake in one of my other passions, BEER! 4 nights on the trot past midnight on the turps......... Beautiful!
I think I am in love with Ulladulla.
Did I see the dead cockroach JB?
And theres nothing wrong with knee high waves. That sesh looked super fun. Wish I was there
