Sunday 3rd September at Cottesloe (Isolators Reef) will see the inaugural Stand Up Surf Shop Cottesloe Classic take place. This event is open to everyone and is all about bringing the surfing community together. While there will be prizes it is more about getting together in a local spot to share some waves with other SUPpers for the day.
Everyone will be expected to chip in and judge a heat or two, but don't stress if you haven't done anything like this before as it will all be open and with experienced people to guide you.
There will be Male and Female Open Long board and Short board divisions but with no size restrictions. If you want to surf your 8'5 in the long board division as you think you can perform long board style surfing, by all means get involved.
Entries are $20 per division and you can enter by calling Stand Up Surf Shop on 9335 5636 or dropping in to do so. Entries will close Thursday 31st August at midnight so heat schedule can be drawn up.

The forecast is looking good for sunshine and fun waves. With open male and female longboard and shortboard divisions there is something for everyone.

What a day Sunday was!
We were greeted with fun 2-3' and clean waves to start off, with a slight seabreeze that came in around 10am. The waves continued to roll through all day and as usual the ladies seemed to get the waves of the day.
A big thanks to everyone who came down and participated and more so to those who came down to judge and weren't even competing.
From what I can gather everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we enjoyed putting the event on. Stay tuned for the next installment.
