The conditions for this weekend look great. Light breeze and only possible light rain.

We will be having a Bacon and Sausage sizzle for everyone after the racing. Bring your mates down and get them to have a try of the demo boards available.

Steady on! You need no advantage. In fact it should be handicapped, I get the new dc/nsp and you're paddling on old bathtub

Hey BT I have a fast DC14 that you know very well, but Jacko has already put his hand up for that one. You can paddle my DC 14 x 27 if you want, as I will be using the YOB14 for the morning - unless Marcus rings me first !!

Unfortunately I missed my flight home and I'm stuck here in Bali for another week or so, so will miss it.

My 14'er is not not getting any use but the stun gun is getting a daily paddle.

I was thinking more along the lines of one of those big old fashioned bath tubs with the claw feet while towing a sea anchor

Sunshine and no wind forecast for 2moro. Anyone with a surfboard is welcome, we have a division for you and this short course style racing suits.
Ladies - this is a great entry level race. Good opportunity to meet other paddlers.

Big thanks to the crew from SUPWA for organising today's race, and Cam & Galvo for their sponsorship of the event. Wonderful morning to be out on the water, & a great crew to race with this morning. Thanks Steve for the snags, certainly filled a hole after the race.

What an epic morning again - the SUPWA committee seems to have a direct line to Huey for this series !! Another slick event, great effort to Luke J, Ben J, and Cam on the water, and all the committee that put time in behind the scenes. There were some awesome battles thru all the various divisions - just hearing the banter at the presentations ( big thanks to Galvo and Cam from the Standup Surf Shop for their continual support ), it seemed like every division had a story or three to tell. Can't wait for the next SUP5000 in October !!!

Ditto!
And thanks to Lach for the loan of the dc 14x27. What a board! unfortunately I didn't do it justice. I reckon that might be the perfect board for me, only problem is I have no excuses for being at the back! I got some work to do.

Well the SUPWA- Stand Up Surf Shop SUP5000 was held on Saturday morning in perfect conditions for paddling.
There was a great turn out with 36 competitors racing, with quite a few competing for the first time.
Right across all flights the racing was tight which kept the crew in the finish boat on their toes. Thanks to Goochi we tried a new scoring system that eliminated any need for countbacks and it worked a treat.
The results were: Surfboard Gary Griffiths
Female 12'6 Anne Lockwood
Male 12'6 Justin O'Malley
Male o/40 14' Steve McCullough
Male o/50 14' Derek Jones
Mens Open 14' 1) Peter Pridmore
2) Mike Galvin
3) Ben Tardrew

Thanks to Mike and Cam from The Stand Up Surf Shop for supplying great prizes for the place getters and for the random draws.
Also thanks to Steve from Sundowner Signs for supplying the sausage sizzle and manning the BBQ.
