Think it's just the rails that are carbon inegra ... interested in the volume and shape of the new 8' hypernut.

Hi Mickmc . The only changes to the 2017 hypernut range , is the 8'6 has been redesigned and a 9' version introduced. Plus the new construction, with inegra rails . Plus cosmetic changes ., the all look awesome , with a price reduction across the starboard range can't go wrong with starboard 2017

Yeah saw the new starboards in the flesh the other day and must say the new starlite construction looked amazing. Boards look very similar to last years carbons and they have the sexy carbon rails on. Weights seemed very good and I think the handle is different, not bad for $1,800

Thanks John. It's funny the 8'6 now has less volume than the 8'0. Sounds like a fun board. Looking forward to some reviews.

Yeah the Pro,s are totally reworked. Bit more beef around the middle and the noses are super thin and dawn in, think Hokua. Also they have a pin tail that screws off to make it a squash tail, No I am not joking !!!!! The Pro,s are also available in the starlight construction which makes them attractive at $1,800.

There must be but not sure, must say they look fantastic except for the convertible tail !!!! The design change makes sense bulk up the standing area and thin out the nose.

Might be coming in late but I have had HN (8 foot X 31.5) since Nov last year and I love it. Easy to paddle and catches whatever I go for. I think carbon version really works and tough as nails. No idea about sunover speed but if it's better then the HN it must be insane. Using winter gear at the moment so extra weight and it still floats me at 100 kegs plus gear.
I have no inclination to buy another board and i try and get out every day. My focus this year is to get my back foot back more and really crank up the turns off the lip.

These reviews are so challenging... We all come from different levels of fitness, experience, skill, and goals (slash or cruise), and we may be surfing on totally different waves. For example, 6 months ago I would have raved about my 8'10 Speeeed. I still love it, but now that I have an 8'7 Flow I won't ride the Speeed unless the conditions are crappy. I love the Flow, but check back in 6 months and see how I feel (Those SMIK boards look pretty Schmiko!)
