A recent thread that seemed to be all about a brand of boards mentioned a wave that I surf on occasion.

A board with a pointy nose and glide is recommended at this wave, too small a board here and you will get eaten and spend more time in and under the water than above it.

Every session at this wave when it has size be prepared for a set or two on the head.

Paddle your guts out to get over the ledge then draw a nice line and you will reap the rewards of this wave.

Board ridden this day is 8'6 x 28 1/4

A performance 9 or 10 footer id reckon imho depending on wieght of course sawthat thread on this topic somewhere here.
