Great surf and sunshine all day at Pirates Bay, Eaglehawk Neck, provided a dramatic backdrop for competitors in the final round of the Surfing Tasmania HIF State Championship Series, the TassieSUP Winter Classic. Over thirty Tasmanian SUP surfing enthusiasts and eight interstate competitors competed in the 1 to 1.5 metre waves whipped into shape by chilly offshore winds creating a wind chill factor of about 8 degrees. By comparison the water temperature was a balmy 12 degrees but that did not deter the hardy crew of SUP enthusiasts.
