The ultimate SUP team relay event will takes place at the Corona Classic at Merimbula again this year.
Now in its 5th year, the Balmoral Paddle Surf SUP Off is now two events over two days. Pit your teams skills over distance in the Beach to Bar SUP Off on Saturday morning and your surf racing skills on the line in the final with the Surf team relay on Sunday morning.
Conditions are looking exxxcellent over both days for both surfing and SUPing Off!
Each relay teams consist of a max of 4 competitors.
Each team must choose one board to take on the challenges of both races. To open the event up to many more brave warriors we added a new division in 2012 -
11' (max length) FUN class along with the 12'6 (max length) 'TAD MORE SERIOUS' class.
The winning team in each division (over both events) will receive a prize of 'Gold'!
There are also prizes in each division for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams.
There are 4 Carbon paddles to be awarded for the best performance by the girls, kids, 'best overall' and best dressed!
Worthy of any quest with sparkling gold thing's at the end, the 'Best performance' will be measured in true 'Merimbula Classic Spirit', including - outstanding individual effort, sportsmanship mixed with courage and a sense of humour.
The Balmoral Paddle Surf SUP Off is brought to you this year by Balmoral Paddle Surf and SUP ATX paddle boards.
In typical Mambo Corona Classic style there are plenty of ways to win a prize, so get creative kids! If you have any entertaining shots of the race from last 3 years - please post them here.
Choose your weapons wisely!
The Fine Print:
The 11' Max length FUN CLASS board is a non displacement class with a maximum board thickness UNDER 5"
In the FUN CLASS to place and win prizes a maximum of two team members can be sponsored.
Sponsored meaning 'hooked up' or given or sold boards below RR to represent one board brand.
A competitor can only compete in one team in one class.

It is hard to capture the true nature of this event. Pictures just don't do it justice.

See you down there kiddies!

Wont be the same without the WA crew!
That said, we are always looking for ring-ins!

Sorry AA. Renos and being at the Nationals last week used up all of my browny points. Grab James Tibbett or Kieran O'Riedan . I know they both think they're pretty fast. Or at least they keep telling me that.
