Can't wait.. It's going to be great.. Will there be a redemption island..
DJ
Who knows, we may make redemption island one of those large yellow beacons way out in the channel. Exiles will have to cling on for an hour or so until they can flag down a passing cargo ship. DJ, I believe you may be able to direct people out to the beacons.

Hi Guys,
Looks like fantastic weather and great that the focus is on FUN, FUN and more FUN, even if you have never picked up a paddle before you will still have a ball!
Most of Victoria's State Champions in Sup Racing and Sup Surfing will be on hand to have a chat, encourage you and provide some pointers along the way.
Cant wait to hit it :)
So the shirts have arrived. One of these babies will go to each registered competitor who signs up for and pays for the Survivor race, even if you just cruise around one easy lap of the 3km course, then enjoy the other fun challenge races and events. Breathable sports singlets, perfect for paddling.
I have mine and I can tell you they are comfy and light. Mens and women's sizes available on a first in first served basis.

Just a quick question...are the sprint races on the N1SCO boards as well?
Or is it man with the fastest board wins? If so can I borrow the fastest board?
Also...whats SUP X? Sounds like something i'd enjoy.

SUP-X is Dogman's format. You would love it. It's a slalom short course with near 180 degree turns every 15 metres or so.
The Sprint races are not on the N1SCOs, fastest board definitely wins, and no, you cannot borrow my Starboard.
Course Map for the SURVIVOR Race. 3km, never more than 400m from land, so no PFDs required.
The final 5, well, they have to do this 7 times across the day!
3000 metres, 7 rounds, one SURVIVOR!
Is it only $5 for the kids to register and participate?
Yep...and the whole $5 goes to the Mirabel Foundation.
How was it?
I was down early for a surf ski squad session and saw everyone setting up. Was going to come over and have a look but home for BBQ breakfast was calling. If I had of seen this thread earlier I would have headed over. :(

Special thanks to Kristi Page for the awesome kids clinics, Monkey Business for the free lessons and Priscilla Patterson for running the kids activities. And finally, The Dogman for his humor and dedication behind the mike as our MC.
Great Day.
Teeps there seems to some key results missing
The SUP Paddle Sand Polo was won by the girls 2 to 1 after the game finished early to start the sand sculpting.
But the big question is who had the best sand sculptures?
And who won the treasure hunt?
One of my little monkeys dug up the treasure....he was stoked
Great event....awesome day.
SUP Vic events just keep getting bigger and better.
All the committee members and other volunteers involved did a fantastic job!!
Can't wait for the next one....kids too
great to see those Core donated Paddles finally been put to good use :) Never thought of that ....
Well with strong wind, tiny groms and big boards we had to get a little inventive, but the paddles did get used for good as well as evil
Really enjoyed the racing, thanks to all the organisers and great to see so many paddlers in one location. Is there any chance of checking out somewhere the full list of final placings for the survivor race...not just the top 3, interested to see where I ended up.
Cheers

I'll see what I can do - trouble is that I don't have the race bib numbers for everyone, so matching bib numbers to names may be an issue. I took note of all of them for the final round, but beyond that I am not so sure. I think I am just missing surnames on some of the bibs list. I might be able to work it out. I have the results for each round but just as numbers, not names.
Post the numbers...each competitor will know their own number and b able to work out where they finished
Cheers
